Fight the Coronavirus with Chlorella & Spirulina Algae

, by Catharine Arnston, 5 min reading time

There are some easy ways you can protect yourself and others from the COVID-19 coronavirus and we want to share them with you.

What You’ll Learn

  • Chlorella strengthens your immune system, boosts white blood cell and natural killer cell production, helping your body to fight off viruses.
  • Spirulina helps to penetrate and break down shells of viruses, including coronaviruses.

As coronavirus spreads throughout the world, people are scrambling to find ways to protect themselves from getting sick. We are here to tell you there is no need to panic. Let us repeat, there is no need to panic. There are some easy ways you can protect yourself and others from the COVID-19 coronavirus and we want to share them with you.

Since the outbreak began, there have been over 100,000 reported cases and 3,400 deaths <1>. But don’t let these numbers scare you. Most people infected are experiencing relatively mild symptoms and are recovering just fine. The COVID-19 coronavirus is definitely not insignificant as death tolls rise, but there is no need to become agoraphobic and lock yourself inside your house for the next year. So, let’s all take a deep breath in and fight this coronavirus together…

Who is most at risk?

Those most at risk are children, the elderly and people who have already weakened or compromised immune systems (especially those with chronic conditions, like cancer, hypertension or diabetes)<1>.

What can YOU do?

1. Strengthen your immune system, boost white blood cell and natural killer cell production with chlorella algae:

In one study, researchers found those who took chlorella produced more antibodies and fought off bacteria and viruses <2>. Another clinical study showed that chlorella algae boosts the production of natural killer cells, which help your body fight off viral infections <3>.

2. Breakdown the virus at the cellular level with spirulina algae:

Spirulina algae, an algae containing mannose-binding lectins, help to penetrate and break down shells of viruses including coronaviruses; SARS, MERS and the most recent COVID-19 <4>. Another clinical study showed that spirulina algae significantly reduced the replication of such viruses as HIV <5>.

Even functional medicine doctors like Dr. Will Cole agree that algae has protective benefits:

Our immune system is our body’s defense mechanism against invading bacteria and viruses. Without a strong immune system, you are more likely to fall prey to illnesses, especially during the winter months when the flu virus abounds.

That’s why I always load up during this time with immune-supporting foods like spirulina and chlorella. These superfoods have been shown to support the immune system and significantly cut the severity of influenza symptoms.

I love RECOVERYbits® tablets since they provide an easy nutrient-dense source of chlorella.

A few other ways to protect yourself:

3. Wash your hands:

Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds (the amount of time it takes you to sing the alphabet or happy birthday twice). The CDC recommends lathering your hands with antibacterial soap and don’t forget the backs of your hands and underneath your fingernails <6>. This may seem juvenile, but you’d be surprised at how many people continue to spread germs because they do not properly wash their hands.

4. Use hand sanitizer:

If you’re on the go and you can’t wash your hands, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol <6>. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers kill most types of bacteria, viruses and fungi in a few seconds. While rubbing your hands with sanitizer for 15 seconds is ideal, poor hand-sanitizer use still beats poor hand washing.

5. Be mindful of personal space:

Distance yourself at least three feet from anyone who is showing symptoms. The COVID-19 virus is spread through respiratory particles produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes <7>. Also, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth when in public <8>.

6. Get adequate sleep:

Without sufficient sleep, your body has a weakened immune system <9>. Studies show that quality sleep can boost T cell production, improving the body’s ability to destroy cells infected by viruses <10>.

7. Prepare, don’t panic:

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 coronavirus is here to stay and won’t be going away anytime soon. We want you to prepare and don’t panic. The best way you and your family can stay healthy is taking measures to strengthen and protect your body to fight off the virus.

We can get through this, and algae can help!! Learn more about our algae tablets and order yours today at ENERGYbits.
